In 2022, I completed a 3 year job hunt.

Well, not completely.

In the late 2019 I decided to leave my first-ever company, Google. I was excited to see what else was in store. I went through the process of creating my job wishlist. I had a very specific set of parameters.

The company had to have 200 employees or less.

It needed to be in the fintech, health tech, or edtech spaces.

And more

I got that job.. but I wasn't happy. The day after I decided to quit and start searching again, I got laid off due to COVID-19. In a rush to bounce back, I jumped into another job. It was fine, but something was missing. Once again, I decided to quit and soon after, a former team member reached out about an opportunity at another large tech company. I knew it wasn't quite for me, but knew I needed somewhere steady where I could spend time truly fleshing out what I wanted.

After half a year of just self-discovery and reflection, I started applying to jobs. This time, with a clear vision in mind of what I wanted.

And in late 2022, I got that job, wrapping up a 3-year journey full of twists and turns.

Now I support other women in helping achieve their dream careers

I learned a lot during those years

By being laid off in 2020 and needing to find a job during worldwide uncertainty I learned how to strategically package myself and network to land a job. Knowledge I've used to coach dozens of people over the past 2+ years through their job searches

From bouncing around to jobs that weren't quite right, I learned how important is to really hone in
on what matters and to not operate from a place of fear or ego

And from now landing a job where I'm fulfilled, I've reminded myself it's possible to have a dream role

And now I want to equip others with the same information

Who am I?

I started coaching in 2020. After being laid off and finding a new job during the height of the pandemic, I wanted to share my job search strategies with others from underrepresented backgrounds.

Since then, I've coached through my own programs and also through coaching companies, such as Pathrise and IGotAnOffer.

I work full time as a Senior Creative Marketing Manager at Amazon Prime Video. I started my career at Google where I worked in both sales and marketing. I did a short stint at a startup before transitioning to Square and later, Meta. My marketing roles have spanned creative, brand, digital, and product marketing in areas ranging from entertainment to creators to fintech.
